In anticipation of the new Star Wars movie coming out this weekend, I thought it was appropriate to finally post this Star Wars Themed Wedding from this summer. As a science fiction fan myself, encompassing all things geek, this was about as fun a themed wedding as I could have hoped for.
I’ve seen a lot of partially themed weddings with a couple references to something the couple might like, but Mike and Lori went above and beyond, fully committed to their Star Wars theme. The highlights are many, not just the lightsabres and lego figurings, but how about the bouquet handles, cupcakes and wedding cake. It was a cornucopia of nerdness and I loved it.
Of course the venue alone would have been fantastic enough as the Grand Victorian and Reif Estates Winery supply and incredible background for any wedding.
Look at these cupcakes! Just amazing! Look at the attention to detail in those Wookiee cupcakes!

Below are examples of the various venue settings provided by the Grand Victorian. From top left to bottom right we have the lobby of the Grand Victorian that the wedding party and family stayed in for the wedding, the ceremony location, the cocktail reception after the ceremony and a view from the tented reception. Gorgeous, and all within a five minute walk of each other.
It was an emotional ceremony to say the least. Keeping with the science fiction idea, the groom read from a poem by Tim Pratt. Here is a small sample of the poem:
If I became lost in
the multiverse, exploring
infinite parallel dimensions, my
only criterion for settling
down somewhere would be
whether or not I could find you:
and once I did, I’d stay there even
if it was a world ruled by giant spider-
priests, or one where killer
robots won the Civil War, or even
a world where sandwiches

and plus
we could get rich
off inventing sandwiches.
