This week I photographed documentary filmmaker Shelley Saywell, the fourth of five profiles I’ve been working on for blogTO.
She is standing beside the famous Nick Ut photo of 9-year-old Kim Phuc screaming after a napalm explosion during the Vietnam war. Shelley’s award winning film, Kim’s Story, revisits the horrific and heroic story, interviewing doctors and journalists who helped her survive, and witnesses Kim visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC 25-years later.
