Bittersweet Buskerfest and the End of Summer
Aug 24th, 2008 by Joseph

One of my favorite festivals of the summer in Toronto is Buskerfest. It pedestrianizes one of the coolest parts of the city and provides a mammoth amount of photographic inspiration. I stopped by briefly this year for the grand finally, and though I was a little disappointed, it’s still a wonderful people watching event. The only downside of the festival is that it reminds you that the summer is almost over.
If anyone else saw the Buskerfest finale, I’m sure you will agree, the girl in the Canada clothes (I have no idea who she was) was really not funny and the guy from So You Think You Can Dance (Robert Muraine) was a pretty blah. He continuously was disappointed with the crowd and ultimately didn’t do much in the finale.
These photos were all taken from the same square foot I had while watching the show. Not that I did it any justice, but it somehow reminded me of of what Jay Maisel said when he guest lectured at Syracuse, there is always an interesting photo within 3 feet of where you are standing (or sitting). Man, he was just one of about a dozen really impressive speakers when I was in grad school. I should have taken better notes.
